Matthew J Hoffman: Music
Over the Mountain
I have always loved reggae music. Who could not be affected by its upbeat charm and syncopated vibe? With "Over the Mountain" I set out to combine a native Hawaiian melody and a spiritual message with a Caribbean rhythm and decided to toss in a bit of techno beat.
I was aiming to convey with the melody the hope and joy of the ultimate Truth: that we can all receive salvation through faith in Jesus, the Son of God.
While this might appeart to many as an almost "overused" message of Christian faith, my perception is different. There is no doubt that we all agree, breathing is essential to human existance --it is one of the most basic functions of life. So is faith, in my opinion. Without it, we can never reach our full potential.

Over the mountain
Past the valley of darkness
stand up friend he's waiting for you
Over the rainbow
Behind the pretty color
Stand up friend he's waiting for you
Well you know he feels for you
He loves you my friend
Died on the cross to forgive all your sins
He feels for you
He loves you my friend
Come on, won't you let Jesus Christ in
Well he walked on the water
And he made the blind man see
And he rose from the grave
To live eternally
(....)
Well Jesus my friend
He loves you completely
'Cause while we were sinners
He gave his life freely
(....)
